Monica Briggins' Bio
Monica Briggins is a Detroit-based entrepreneur and criminal justice advocate, best known as the co-founder and CEO of Detroit Bail Bonds & Surety; she is one of the few Black woman-owned bail bond agencies in the Midwest, with operations across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
Entering the bail industry in 2012, she rose through a system traditionally dominated by legacy networks, becoming co-owner of the company in 2015 and helping grow it into a regional leader known for its client-centered, dignity-driven approach. Briggins emphasizes that bail is more than a transaction—it is a pivotal life moment requiring guidance, structure, and compassion, which is reflected in her firm’s 24/7 service model.
Beyond business, she is committed to community empowerment, mentorship, and legacy-building, hosting initiatives like the Pearls & Pumps Brunch to uplift women across Detroit. With a background in utility services and court system operations, Briggins blends operational expertise with purpose-driven leadership, building not just a successful enterprise but a broader impact rooted in second chances, resilience, and community advancement.
